Why is it important to know your VO2Max?

VO₂Max describes how well your body can use oxygen during physical activity. It is an objective way to tell how fit you are and the key marker of longevity. When you breathe, your lungs take in oxygen and release it into your bloodstream. Red blood cells transport this oxygen to organs and muscles. Muscle cells need oxygen to produce ATP, the body's main source of energy. ATP provides muscles with the energy they need for movement and exertion. The more oxygen you can absorb and utilize, the more ATP is produced, which is why you breathe faster when you exert yourself.

A higher VO₂Max value means that your heart, lungs, blood vessels, and muscles work together particularly efficiently: your body can absorb, transport, and use oxygen better. This provides your muscles with more energy, which improves endurance, performance, and recovery. That is why the VO₂Max value is considered one of the most important indicators of cardiovascular fitness and long-term health.

What are the symptoms of low VO2Max?

We highly recommend to test your VO2Max especially if you have one of following symptoms:

  • Low endurance capacity
  • Quick exhaustion during exercise
  • Shortness of breath with minimal exertion
  • Slow recovery after physical activity
  • Performance plateau despite training

When is it reasonable to test your VO2Max?

As the key marker for longevity, we recommend it at least 1x per year to test your level and identify training needs to increase your chance for healthy aging. It is a great follow up biomarker to see whether your cardio and interval training had a significant effect on your longevity. VO2Max helps guide your ambition and training focus. Starting at a lower point gives you a great opportunity to improve it.

Evidence-based Longevity in {Neighborhood} {City}

In our practice, we rely exclusively on evidence-based methods and medical diagnostics that have been scientifically proven to make a difference. Our focus is on preventing the “four horsemen” of aging—cardiovascular disease, cancer, metabolic dysfunction, and neurodegeneration—rather than offering trends like epigenetic age tests or wellness drips. Our Prevention strategy addresses tailored exercises, nutrition, sleep, mental health and if necessary support by supplement and medication.

What our customers say about us

Anna, 44 – HRT & Sleep
I never realized how much my hormones were affecting my sleep until I have taken progesterone. After adjusting my therapy and tracking my sleep for six weeks, I went from waking up four or five times a night to sleeping through almost every night. It’s such a relief to finally wake up feeling rested and ready for the day.
Julia, 46 – HRT & Strength
When I saw how much muscle mass I had lost, I finally understood why I felt weaker. It took longer than I expected to get my hormone levels properly adjusted, but once they were stable, my sleep and daily energy improved dramatically. Combining this with regular strength training has made me noticeably stronger and more resilient in everyday life.
Lena, 39 – Alzheimer’s Prevention & Follow-Ups
Because Alzheimer’s runs in my family, I wanted to be proactive. Doing a full cognitive risk panel and starting a structured plan — including monitoring inflammation markers like CRP and homocysteine — made me feel I was truly taking control. The regular follow-ups help me keep those values stable, and knowing I’m actively lowering my risk gives me peSarah, 41 – Motivation durch Datenace of mind.
Martin, 45 – Early Insulin Resistance
Learning that my blood sugar regulation wasn’t optimal was a wake-up call. By changing my diet and daily habits, I’ve already seen my energy and focus improve significantly.
Sarah, 41 – Motivation Through Data
Wearing a CGM on my arm for two weeks changed my eating habits more than any diet ever has. Seeing how different foods spiked my blood sugar in real time helped me make better choices and keep my energy stable throughout the day.
Tobias, 42 – VO₂max & Fitness
I always thought I was in good shape — until my VO₂max results proved otherwise. Now I’m training with a clear target and can feel my endurance improving week by week.
